The test will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2026, and the application period is:
August 24 – September 7, 2026 (until 17:00 JST)
If you’re taking the JLPT outside Japan, application dates vary by country and region. Please check the schedule for your local test site.
In recent years, the number of JLPT applicants has increased significantly. The official JLPT website has announced that applications may close before the deadline depending on test site availability.
So, if you’ve already decided to take the JLPT this December, we recommend applying as early as possible!

🌱 Preparing for the JLPT with Nihongo Picnic
At Nihongo Picnic, our JLPT Preparation Course will run from September through November for learners preparing for the December exam.
The course is focused specifically on JLPT preparation and is taught by teachers who are experienced with the exam. During the course, we don’t just work through JLPT questions. We also look at common question patterns, useful test-taking tips, and how each student can approach the areas they find most difficult.
And because everyone’s strengths and weaknesses are different, we keep each class small, with a maximum of six students.
Before joining the course, you'll have a short Zoom meeting with our Head Teacher to check your current level and discuss your preparation. If you're interested in joining us this September, we recommend applying early.

N1: Tuesdays 19:00–20:00 JST
N2: Mondays 19:00–20:00 JST
N3: Thursdays 9:00 AM –10:00 AM JST
